The film is based on the director’s unpublished graphic novel of the same name. The movie release date was pushed back to avoid a clash with the worldwide release of Jurassic Park in 3D. Jessica Chastain was supposed to play the role that eventually went to Kurylenko.

Oblivion may not liked by everyone. But it is better in displaying the bleak future.
